DESCRIPTION

Living space. The main downstairs living space area consists of a comfortable seating area with large flat screen TV with Euro Free view (with Italian, French and German channels plus BBC News – 100s of European channels). DVD player, many DVDs, iPod docking station, wood-burning fire and lots of board games. There are large patio doors providing a great view and access to the portico.

Kitchen. The kitchen is an open plan area at one end of the living space. Has an electric fan oven and range-style gas hob, large fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, blender, pasta machine, food processor, electric whisk, all the cookware you need for baking, good knives and authentic Italian cookbooks. You should be able to read up, go to the market and then make anything you choose — foodie heaven. There is a long wooden table in the kitchen that seats 8 to 10 people. A high chair is also available. Lavanderia (Utility room) Washing machine, sink and extra equipment and food storage areaGround floor studio bedroom. A large room with king-size bed and en-suite bathroom. Patio doors leading onto the garden. Terrace bedroom Has a double bed, the smallest of the three rooms but by no means the poor relative with its 4 meter high wooden ceiling, exposed stone walls and patio doors leading to a large roof terrace.
Grand bedroom A large bedroom with king-size bed and additional mezzanine level containing 2 single beds, 4 meter high vaulted wooden ceiling and exposed stone walls. This room is ideal for a family of 4 or older children sharing. This room has a TV & DVD player. Bathroom (The room with a view!) Contains a bath, shower, bidet, sink and WC and has one of the best views in the house. Roof terrace the terrace has spectacular views of rolling hills, mountain villages, churches and castles and can be accessed from the upstairs hallway or the terrace bedroom. It is a real sun-trap for sunbathing, a great place for pre-dinner drinks while the sun sets and our favorite place to sit out and look at the stars — with little light pollution the night sky here is like our ancestors must have known. There are also sometimes bats flying in and out of the forest and in the early summer a riot of fireflies. Portico A very large shady porch with a high vaulted wooden ceiling and tiled roof that is dry as a bone in winter and lovely and cool in summer. The portico also has a dining table for 8 to 10 people with additional tables and chairs for larger groups. Garden Casa Miele is set in a hectare of land, the area around the house has been tamed but the majority is au naturel, a meadow with many wild flowers, wild herbs and butteries flitting around. The view at the end of the garden of the Alpi Apuane is always breath taking. Parking The front of the house is extensively graveled, enabling parking (and turning) for 4 cars (5 or 6 with careful planning!).
