and chestnut wood for a raw rustic appeal framed with contemporize flare. The facilities and quality of the decor are all a very high standard, from quality new mattresses to contemporaries’ art work to fit context. The design & layout offers modern open plan living spaces, great for big groups. An Idyllic space for families and friends with fire flies dancing among the terraces at night…a true spectacle!
In main building the open plan 2 living spaces and kitchen with two open fires spill onto a habitable terrace and under arch space which is also used as a shaded seating area overlooking the garden. Also on the ground floor are two double bedrooms that have a bathroom with shower, just off the kitchen there is however a service WC for communal use. The master bedroom has its own private balcony space and open plan bathroom with shower and bath tub, this room is very spacious with also living space. Over the terrace is the annex an open plan independent apartment complete with, kitchen, bathroom living and two sleeping areas, it also
has two separate terraces (terracotta and stone) front and back. The main sleeping area is in front of open fire with a quality large double bed, the extra sleeping arrangement is organized on the soppalco.
“La Terra” … the shell shape surrounding land with a 14m swimming pool centrally set provides a natural Amphitheatre to enjoy in all seasons. The garden continues into the forest, where dear graze in the bushes although first thing in the morning they will push themselves onto the lawns enjoying the more succulent shrubs for breakfast. Eagles fly above you and lime green Geckos will startle you as you walk to the pool past the landscaped terraces of Lavender and Rosemary. The owners keep a small vegetable patch for light lunches by pool of sun blushed warm tomatoes and basil. However, the land itself is a foragers paradise: fruit trees overflow in abundance…Pears, Figs, Peaches, Plums, Raspberries, Blackberries, Wild Mushrooms and Nuts… What more can I say…just a hint of the mint, the rest is for you to discover, explore and enjoy!
15 mins walk into the medieval market town of Bagnone which offers local Trattoria, Pizzerias and Fine Dining options, although the land itself, woodland and wildlife is a foragers paradise! Our local restaurant (10 mins on foot) is shadowed by the medieval Malgrate
Castle (en-route of the “Via Francigena” the infamous Pilgrimage from Canterbury to Rome), here you can enjoy the local vino in Tuscan hillside company. Local eno-gastro festivals are also in not to be missed. River swimming in Bagnone is at its best with an array of rock pools and hidden waterfalls up stream to discover. The 15 mins drive to motorway exists connect easily with the cultural cities of Florence(165K), (Lucca 95K), Pisa (95K), (Genova 120), Parma(97K), Bologna(195K) and Milano(200K). The great Tuscan Ligurian coastal destinations are also well under the hours reach.
