Driven by a lifestyle choice leaving the Milan fashion world behind, colour specialist Signor Turchetti’s conversion of this small Apennine Castle (dating back to 1200)  opens its doors to a stylish rustic hideaway of noble air which facilitates a mood and ambience in which to recharge and connect with the rhythm of an uncontaminated natural landscape –perched at the extremity of a small stone hamlet with surrounding chestnut woods, framed by the glorious backdrop of the Apennines –set conveniently within two national parks: Parco del Appenino Tosco-Emilliano and the Parco dei Cento laghi with much to offer for all- Italian vintage curiosities, Tuscan style furnishings, open fires, swallows dancing, dear echo from the olive grove perimeters, gourmet slow food from in-house Osteria, which proposes some foraging for dinner or a visit to the vegetable garden, just but some of the elements and experiences to enjoy during your stay – the layout of the building allows large groups to have complete privacy within the separate apartment units or rooms but is also offering internal and external well designed communal areas with all amenities – a deconsecrated chapel with recently renovated afresco’s provides a unique activity and event space –the pool with view has all you need for lazy summer days in the shade of the apple orchard above the vegetable garden gazing into the magnetic aura shaped valley and beyond.

The in-house slow food orientated Osteria provides you with the possibility of being catered for as part of your holiday package – should you choose to self-cater kitchens are located within the apartments – Casa Turchetti is an excellent versatile event venue, the deconsecrated Church, Osteria and land have hosted some fantastic wedding ceremonies, theatre events and holistic workshops, we aspire to meet your proposals however discrete or elaborate they may be.


Casa Turchetti’s immediate natural surroundings are protected by the 2 national parks in which it is set –  the historic region of Lunigiana is a tactical starting point for visiting the cultural destinations of Tuscany, Liguria and Emilia-Romagna – the Station at Aulla-10K (also closest motorway exit) provides excellent connections to fast trains allowing easy reach to Milan, Venice and Rome and direct trains to the Cinque Terre – we will provide a pick-up service on request. From the property the short walk across the river leads to the village of Tavernelle with farm shop, butcher (raring her own meat), pizzeria/ristorante & bar, a rural social venue  extremely family orientated – located in this picturesque village Pianta also has a small “insider” tourist office on the main road (SP 74) – the Passo del Lagastrello ancient salt road, (SP 74) leads from Toscana to the province of Parma & Reggio Italian gastronomic capitals of excellence (Parmigiano & Prosciutto), on route you will leave hillside chestnut woods threw high pass (     ) Apennine lakeside landscapes to silver birch mountain forests and breath-taking crisp views, where eagles fly on the ridge lines above  – village food & wine festivals are also in abundance, Porcini mushrooms and wild Boar, only to mention some of the local delicacies – in all seasons excursion hikes to mountain refuges are a great way to enjoy the perfect bowl of Polenta! – day trips to popular and wild coastal destinations are also in an hour’s reach away – wine tasting, walking, sailing, climbing or simply enjoying the crystal waters of the Cinque Terre Mediterranean hot spot which we highly recommend off peak season– browse and fine dine at the fashionable Lerici, Porto Venere and island of Palmaria which enclose the Golfo dei Poeti, inspired by the master English poets Byron and Shelley – experience Forte dei Marmi and Pietra Santa, ports for international contemporary art scene’s also hand in hand with the artisan quarter and foundries which served Michelangelo, hence in the shadows of the world famous Carrara’s white marble Appuan Alps – do not miss the Henry Moore foundation, artists such as Anish Kapoor and David Lynch exhibit in Pietra Santa, a place to see and be seen! – book your tickets at the Lake-side Puccini Opera festival in the nearby province of Lucca… a mere taste of numerous possibilities during your stay at Casa Turchetti.
